Last week Kokrobitey Institute had the privilege of welcoming a group of five from the Chinese organizations Breakthrough and the Youth Foundation. The group was led by Dr. Bill Tsang and included Dr. Wing Tai Leung, Rita Hung, Eva Lee, and Vivian Chiu from the Universities of Hong Kong, Beijing, and Shanghai. Dr. Bill Tsang actually grew up in Ghana in Tema, and is interested in starting a cultural exchange program between Ghana and China at the Kokrobitey Institute.
During their stay we had a series of interesting discussions about the training of migrant youth and the role of traditional culture in education, among many other things. On Tuesday, November 22nd Kokrobitey Institute welcomed a group of young professionals, artists, educators, intellectuals, and representatives of NGO’s to take part in a forum to discuss these topics. A very rich dialogue took place that we hope to continue in the coming months.
A reception was also held for the delegation at the house of Raymond and Lois Okudzeto to celebrate a successful trip. Kokrobitey Institute looks forward to working more with our new friends in the future!
